Since 2013, LS Group has been operating the LS Dream Science Class in cooperation with the Children’s Foundation and the National Academy of Engineering of Korea. Through this program, elementary school students in the neighborhood of our business premises can experience a wide range of scientific and cultural activities. During school vacation, fifth and sixth graders can participate in scientific experiments and culture and art activities once a week. College students majoring in natural sciences or engineering selected through an open recruitment process complete the instructor training program and then teach classes as mentors. LS ELECTRIC employees take part in LS Dream Science Class as one-day instructors in Cheongju, Anyang, and Busan and help students’ tour to business premises.

LS University Students Overseas Volunteers consists of 20 college students selected through an open recruitment process, employees of LS Group’s affiliates, and experts from relevant NGOs. After two months’ professional training and preparation, they share their hearts and consideration with children in developing countries. Since 2007, we have been dispatching University Students Overseas Volunteers abroad twice a year so as to improve the educational environment and cultural and emotional education for children in developing countries. In 2023, they carried out a variety of programs, under the themes of education, cultural exchange, and cultural experience at elementary schools in Hanoi and Haiphong.

For ESG management, Let’s Start Together with LS ELECTRIC provides school supplies for children from low-income families. The Dream Kit consists of school supplies including a backpack, an auxiliary bag, sportswear, and stationery. In 2023, we delivered the kit to 200 elementary school students in Southern Gyeonggi. The campaign turns 5 this year. We will help children grow their dreams by providing Dream Kits and a pursuing a variety of support programs.

Let’s Make Green with LS ELECTRIC is a joint activity between LS ELECTRIC, the local community, and civic groups. Through this campaign, we put forth the efforts to preserve the urban ecosystem and resolve environmental issues. The campaign first started in 2017 with the Anyangcheon Stream Improvement Project including various activities such as EM soil distribution, garbage pickup, and invasive plant elimination. In 2023, through the LS ELECTRIC Flower Path Project, we planted 1,500 crepe myrtle trees in Cheonan Seongseong Lake Park with ESG College Students’ Volunteer Group.

In celebration of the first anniversary of declaring ESG management, LS ELECTRIC conducted an employee goods donation campaign. Approximately 1,000 items were donated to the social enterprise 'GoodWill Store.' The donated goods were commercialized and sold by workers with disabilities, contributing to the social value of creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities. This initiative not only establishes a foundation for social and economic self-reliance but also promotes resource circulation and reduces carbon emissions through the reuse of items. Moving forward, regular goods donation activities are planned to sustain continuous social value creation.
